Staff

Brinsley Thigpen.jpgBrinsley Thigpen, Chief Executive Officer: Brinsley was named CEO in August 2011. Originally from Atlanta, she moved to New York City where she worked for the television show, Sesame Street and transitioned to sports at Major League Baseball for several years. While at MLB, Brinsley worked with all departments providing services in marketing, advertising, production and much more. Upon moving back to Georgia, Brinsley was a lobbyist for a legislative session at the state capitol before continued working with baseball for the Atlanta Braves in the Game Entertainment Department. Before joining the ASC, she served five years as Program Director at Camp Sunshine, planning year-round events for children and teens with cancer and their families, throughout the state.

A graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Public Relations, Brinsley is a lifelong Bulldog fan. She enjoys a variety of athletics. Brinsley and her husband, Beau, live in Augusta and are proud owners of a chocolate lab, Sweet “Georgia” Brown.

Randy DuTeauRandy DuTeau, Sport Development Manager: Randy's interest in the sports industry grew from his lifetime involvement in cycling. The former top-ranked Georgia cyclist began promoting events in 1992, leading to positions at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and Paralympics. Before moving back to Augusta in 2004 Randy served as the facility manager of the Olympic Shooting Complex, and also as the operations manager for Tour de Georgia. He joined the Augusta Sports Council in 2005. He lives in Augusta with his wife, Chele and their two children.

Carly KobasiarCarly Kobasiar, Marketing Manager: Carly began her marketing and event planning career in 2000 as an intern with the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame. Soon after, she was hired by the Augusta Sports Council as Events Manager, a position she held from 2001-2005. Carly continued to hone her skills in both the government and corporate sectors, including a three-year tenure as a meeting and trade show planner for worldwide golf and utility vehicle manufacturer, Club Car. Carly returned to the Augusta Sports Council in April 2009 in the position of Marketing Manager.

A Michigan native, Carly has called Augusta home for more than 20 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Georgia State University in May 2000. Though she considers herself a far better spectator than athlete, Carly is a fan of all sports, especially Georgia Tech football! Carly lives in Evans, GA, with her bichon frise, Maggie.
