How did it come to pass that Augusta, Georgia has evolved to become the center of the golf universe once a year? Georgians can find out about the city’s rich history by watching the GPB Original documentary, Augusta’s Master Plan: From Sherman’s March to Arnie’s Army, premiering Sunday, April 4 at 8 PM on Georgia Public Broadcasting. The program encores Wednesday, April 7 at 8 PM, and Friday, April 9 at 10 PM.

Augusta’s Master Plan is based on the books of Stan Byrdy, who served as consulting executive producer to executive producer Bruce Burkhardt. Byrdy has covered the Masters since Jack Nicklaus’ historic win in 1986 and is considered an authority on the history of golf in Augusta.
