National Collegiate Disc Golf Championship
The fourth annual National Collegiate Disc Golf Team Championship will be held April 15-18, 2010 at the North Augusta Hippodrome. Sanctioned by the National Collegiate Disc Golf Untion, the tournament will attract 26 collegiate disc golf teams from around the country, including Augusta State, Clemson, Georgia Tech, University of Georgia and University of South Carolina.

ATA Martial Arts Regional Tournament
The inaugural American Taekwondo Association (ATA) Regional Tournament will take place at Christenberry Fieldhouse on Saturday, April 17. The tournament is being hosted by Darin and Gena Prazer, owners of ATA Martial Arts on Washington Rd. in Evans, Georgia. Special Guest of the tournament is Chief Master Candidate and 8th Degree Black Belt, Senior Master Todd Droege of Marietta, GA. Other distinguished guests include 6th and 7th Degree Masters and Senior Masters from the Southeast.
According to Mr. Prazer, a 2009 World Champion in “Forms” competition, between 600 and 800 competitors, ranging in age from four-years old to sixty-years old, are expected at the competition. The level of competition will range from novice (White Belt) to expert (5th Degree Black Belt).

2010 Augusta Hyperflite Disc Dogathon
Lake Olmstead Park, adjacent to the Julian Smith Casino, will be the site of the 2010 Augusta Hyperflite Disc Dogathon on April 17 and 18. Competition begins each day at 9am. Spectators are encouraged to attend, and admission is free.
Contestants and their canine teammates will compete in a variety of categories including freestyle, distance/accuracy, and extreme distance. The competition is open to all level of experience. The event welcomes mixed-breed, as well as purebred dogs. In fact, many of the canine athletes expected to compete were rescued from animal shelters.
