Recognizing Excellence

The Augusta Sports Council honors athletes of all abilities at the local, state and national levels through a series of events and awards each year.

Area high school and adult athletes in numerous sports are honored each May at our Sports Awards Gala through the Greater Augusta Medals for Excellence in Sports (G.A.M.E.S.) awards program.

Each January, ASC partners with The Augusta Chronicle and WJBF NewsChannel 6 to host the All-Area Football Banquet. At this event, ASC presents the High School Punter of the Year Award and honors the winner of the Ray Guy Award, presented annually by the ASC to the nation’s most outstanding college punter. The event also includes induction ceremonies for the American Football Kicking Hall of Fame.
